Chicago Power Tools 14" bandsaw

Any thought on the age of this 14" Chicago Power Tool model 33-WB14, ser# IBD 1706. I was told there is a problem with the motor, smoke and electrical popping noise so I haven't plugged it in yet. It was given to me and the owner said he had it 15 or 20 years and bought it used. There is very little signs of wear and it seems at least as solid as my Ridgid BS14002.

I've got its twin with a different name on it. Mine's about 25 years old.

I have it's sister, had it for 25+ years. Cut a ton of aluminum plate with it put a good blade on it and it's a good saw.
