My late son had two sets when he was little, both with tools he could actually use. One had a bunch of combination wrenches in it, metal and metric, as well as some other tools, all in a (reasonably) nice wooden tool box. I think we still have that. He also had another set of carpentry tools. The saw needed sharpening (but hey, this is for a young kid), the other tools were not too bad. He managed to break one of the claws off of the hammer trying to pull a 10 or 12d nail. I remember he was messing around with the end nippers and found out what happens when you clamp those jaws onto the pad of your finger. I think we still have most of this stuff, somewhere.
