Lowes has the ceiling box for $49. Does the triple wall go from from the ceiling box through roof and get capped? My exit in roof is about 3 ft from gutters do I still have to bring stack above ridge line or is the 3' ok?

i'm thinking it needs to be 2 wall or 3 wall all the way to the cap, basically any unconditioned space or outdoors, this is to avoid creosote buildup when the exhaust gas hits cold pipe.

also top of your pipe/cap needs to be at least 3 feet above roof penetration and also 2 feet above roof height 10 feet away.

Buddy's right. You keep calling it triple wall but you really mean class A. And the class A extends from the ceiling box to the cap. It has 2" Clearance requirements.

Still expensive. Your chimney can absolutely cost more than the stove. Mine sure did.

Ok gotcha. Around here nobody knows what class a is and calls it triple wall or exterior pipe. If it has a 2" minimum clearance than how do I seal around it when it exits through roof?

I've always installed them on wood decked roofs and the flashing cone, where it meets the decking, sits exactly 2" away from the pipe. So I cut the hole to match the flashing cone and roof the jack in.

You have a metal roof right? That makes it weird. The 2" is clearance to COMbustibles so metal doesn't count. There are the silicone looking boots but they have to be listed for contact with the fluepipe.

I'm wondering how the installation turn out. I too, am installing a wood stove with a blower. I plan to go through the wall and it makes sense because the exhaust pipe is at the back of the stove. What I'd like to know (and have been searching) is how folks accomplished that with the metal exterior??? I want to do it right.

I'll have to get some pics of it installed, I used a 55 gallon drum kit and cut it down to about a 30gallon size.
