I may be in the wrong forum but, i was on the roof this weekend and decided to check out the fireplace chimney. Noticed the Mortar Cap was solid but had some cracking in a few places. What can i coat the cap with to seal up the cracks and waterproof the rest. Thanks

I was told consumers can't purchase this stuff or the quantities were to large.
Chinmey sweeps were the only ones using it and i don't trust any of them around here.

I made a cover using the brown aluminum flashing and glued it down with roofing cement. It's gone through two hurricanes (Isabel and Irene) and is in good shape. I would post a picture but I don't feel like getting out the 32' ladder to take a picture of it.

Amazon sells it, so the consumer thing is bunk. The quantity part might be correc though. Looks like it comes in a 2 gallon tub for $150.
