China direct pipe bushing is eight sided....

So this kinda ***** as where this is suppose to go is recessed and needs a socket. I bought a stainless steel 1-1/2 x 3/4 npt bushing and its octagonal instead of a hexagon. Why on earth would someone make a bushing 8 sided? I should just buy another bushing rather than a 42mm 8 sided socket.

Put the 3/4 pipe into the bushing then screw the bushing in and tighten by using your pipe wrench on the 3/4 pipe. Use plenty dope and it should be good to go.

I think eight sided bushings were the norm on large sizes some years ago.

Anything I've ever seen 3" and below has always been hex.
