Both COOs are correctly listed on the site.
Sleazebag rep, perhaps, but I don't see where SO is in the wrong on this one.

These items aren't connected the rep that said every SO tool was made in the USA.
These were bought through the SEP rep.
They appear to be very good quality, haven't used them on clock yet. I just don't get why SO would cheapen their name putting it on China made items. Could have branded it Blue Point.

The 7.2 volt SO cordless line has been souced out of Asia for some time.
Not news to me.
Even Chadster here on GJ made the clairifation some time ago if not over a year or more ago.
Correct me but the 14.4v and 18v line are either US made or US assembled from global components.
Go "chicken little" all ya want. It's not news to most GJ Snap-On buyers if they have a weekly driver. Mine have always been clear about it and there are many threads here on GJ about it.
Sounds like you need a smarter or at least knowledgeable regular or SEP rep. He/she is quite erroneous. This time I would kill the messenger.

I have been saying for years that some of Snap-on tools came form China.
Their cordless tools and machinits tools are not even average in quality. I would not buy them when there are so many good proven brands that are half the price or less.
Snap-on is going to to themselves in. If we don't have a change in leadership in this country you will see many companies go out of business or move totaly out of the US and I can't blame them.

Its a shame we don't make stuff anymore. I know the EU guys feel it too with their products.
Cordless is one area where you really cant complain. None of the popular brands are made anywhere but Asia. China basically has a stranglehold on the electric motor market due to owning most of the worlds remaining rare earth metals/elements.
That said i like my CT661. Overpriced (at MSRP) for what it is but still still well built and works well.
Asia has been the primary source for PCBs for most of the electronic age. No surprises there.

Wanna Sell them? Ive used the 7.2 driver, its handy as hell, There are just some things that We dont produce in the US and some of those Jobs arent coming back.

I am all for supporting the development of Mexico. It only benefits us a country if our close southern neighbor is stable and financially sound as our northern.
No, not for sale. I dumped what I didn't want back in the summer. Now I only sell tools when I buy a steeply discounted set and sell off the stuff I don't want to pay for my purchase (such as my S&K purchase today)

The new lithium 7.2 volt SO screwdriver and impact wrench are light years ahead of the competition. If you haven't tried them out, I highly recommend testing them out.

its pretty much a certainty your cordless tools were built, at the very least, using raw materials from asia.

Off topic here, but relevant to the "raw materials" thing, ive noticed a TON of stanley products now say "Made in USA with Global Materials"
Including one-piece items like razor blades and metal framing squares.
My assumption would be that they are made in USA with Chinese steel?

OH CEO's can make big bucks and its wrong but a guy gets $30.00 and hour to put 2 headlights in a car at the factory and thats not greed? HMMM. I'm gonna tune out of this thread cause I will get it deleted.
Oh I agree unions and regulation play their part too. It all adds up to make this a very business unfriendly country.

People (especially union) need to understand that the sole purpose of a business is to make money, not provide jobs and Health benefit to people. Business only has allegiance to the investors and investors only care about return in their investment. They don't care if the company has to outsource to make profit.

I get it... This is where you tell me how your opinion is right and anyone who disagrees and doesn't live in 1950 anymore is wrong. I've been down this road with you before... I'm sorry that Me and my wife paying our taxes, contributing to my local community on volunteer basis along with employing other members of the community with my wife's architect firm isn't enough to keep me out of the "nutcase" scenario.

To the OP: It does **** if your rep mis-represented the COO, but surely that's on him rather than SO if their site and packaging is clear?
