China Tire machine VS name brand

I've had a John Bean Tire machine for a few years and mounted many tires with it. Now it seems to have issues holding the rim. I will probably pull apart the cylinders that move the rim clamps, but the machine may just be at the end of its life.

So my question is: How do the China machines compare to the much more expensive name brand machines such as Coates, Hoffman, or John Bean.

Good question...I’ve been trying to find some reviews on this topic as well.

Anybody? If you have one of the China machines, how do you like it? I mount 315-30-18 Hoosier race tires on 10.5" rims. I flip them on the rims after 1 or 2 weekends and go through several sets a year.

I split the difference and went with Bendpak / Ranger. Its a chinese manufacture machine but with US support and parts. Been very happy with both tire machine and balancer so far.

I bought some chinese machines a few months ago. Appear to work great so far. I paid 1200 for the pair. From funwebsurfer on the bay. Free shipping to a fedex warehouse.

Have you considered looking into repairing the machine you have. A quick web search reveals that some repair parts are available. I'm a firm believer of repairing quality made tools before buying new questionable quality replacements.
