I need to splice a messenger/neutral wire, what is the trade name for this connector? I assume different sizes but it looks to be about 1 alum in a triplex.

Ace, I defineately dont have a tool and I see the poco used some kind of finger on my hi line, but on the secondary it obviously needs some kind of crimped connection. I wonder if there is a bolt on type I dont spose some split bolts would be a great idea?

If the line has tension on it you will need an automatic tension splice.

The H tap will work if u don't tension on it.

I've seen guys use Polaris connectors to make up the connection at the weatherhead before. Just point the ports down to keep the water out.

Thanks for the help guys, upon further investigation the steel messenger wire in it wasnt damaged. Its been so long since I work on overhead service it took a counterman to hit it on the head, I had a big duh mjoment.
