I am going to order the epoxy-coat premium kits that come with the flakes. I want the hockeytown color blend that originalcolorchips and some others sell. For those that have epoxycoat chips, should I get the "red" or "lipstick red"?
I ordered a sample of the red and it looked to be more on the burgundy side than a bright red.
Thanks

considering that the epoxycoat folks are just north of Detroit, they should know! I'd give them a call. If they don't know, I'd razz them pretty hard! ;)

I sent an email asking them, but I posted this just to get some other opinions and to see if anyone else has done the same blend from E-C.

I have the OCC "Hockeytown" on my shop and attached garage floor. You are correct, if you want the "brighter" red, go with the "lipstick". It's a good color blend, but, be warned, if you are not clear-coating over the top, the white chips WILL stain! (Don't ask how I know......LOL )

Thanks. How does this sound? I am leaning towards the gray base. I get 15lbs of chips from E-C. I ordered 3 lbs of glow chips separately that are white in the light, so I was thinking of getting a 5 color mix so that would give me 3 lbs of each color. The colors would be:
Black
Cyberspace
Lipstick Red
Granite
White

That would give me 6 lbs of white and 3 lbs of the other 4. My walls will be white, dark gray and red. I couldn't think of any other color that would look good in with that. Cyberspace and graphite are close in color I think. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be to trust your opinion. Taste in color is pretty subjective, and the only opinion that matters is your's - and maybe your spouse.

Once in awhile a client will order a color combo that will look like clown vomit, when that happens I'll gently suggest a variation or send them a photo of a sample we whip up, but in the end most people know what they like.

We have a few blends that we had done by an interior designer, and many of our coating contractors use them as their "go to" combos, they conservative and won't offend anyone.

The colors you list are pretty safe, so if you like 'em go for it.

Thanks for the response Alpha. Safe is the word I wanted to hear. While I know my opinion matters, I also don't know that I will live in the house forever and if I do sell, I want the garage floor to be neutral enough that it wont offend anyone.
