I have recently been doing some tool restoration projects and garage projects and I thought I would share. Most of my projects are fairly small but I tend to learn from each project.
One of the first projects I attacked was painting c-clamps, not too difficult but it helped get me familiar with my spray gun.

Now some pics
First I cleaned them up

Primed

This project is on going and is a bit more complex. I am attempting to restore an old craftsman tool chest.
Started out a bit rough

I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me, but thus far I feel like its going well. As far as the final color, I plan to paint it Rustoleum"sun rise red"

Nice start.
That's what I've been doing as well. But I haven't had the gumption, or time, to start on a box yet.

You're a better man than I, Gunga Din.

So I took it apart and cleaned it up a bit

Then I masked it up and figured out how to mount it when I paint it

Got some color sprayed today, missed a few spots on the vise and still have about half of the box to paint.

Really happy with the vise as its the first one that I have ever "restored", can't wait to be able to use it.

Wrapped up both the vise and the tool box projects today. The vise turned out great. The tool box came out good, there are a few little issues (i chipped some paint, ect.) cleaned and lubricated the slides and the drawers slide well. As far as time wrapped up into these projects I would estimate about 25-30 hrs total. Now pics

Those look nice, I have a vise just like that. As far as being perfect, don't worry. We all started somewhere. Use this as a learning moment. fWIW, I have used a brush to paint a lot of things, easier cleanup!

Nice work there Chiz. :) Wouldn't worry about the chips and such. That's just a natural part of something being used. Things will likely get far more over the years. :D

Isn't it just. That's the main reason I stick with the brushes these days. Spraying is just such an awfully messy process, and if any paint dust settles on owt else, it's a devil to shift .

Thanks for the kind words. I am perfectly happy with not quite reaching perfection as it will help me improve what ever I end up doing next. Quite honestly the cleaning the spray gun doesn't bother me too much as it is much faster to spray larger things than to use a brush, at least in my experience. Its all a learning experience, and I definitely enjoyed the process.

About a year ago I needed something to put my toolbox on and to use as miscellaneous storage. So I build a cart out of 2x4's and random plywood and MDF that was laying around. Fast foreword to now the cart is still working great, but I am running out of room rather quickly, in particular I needed a place to store hammers. So I decided an addition to the cart was in order.
This is before.

And this is what I came up with

Over all I am extremely happy with the turn out. I used leftover hardware from other projects and the wood was from an old TV cabinet, costing me a grand total of nothing. So nice to have freed up space in the actual box.
