So I came across this box of Snap-On soft Dead Blow's.

Don't ask me how nor why but the deal is I only get to keep one.

I already have rubber and steel faced mallets at each of these weights anyway. This is a want not a need.

Which one would you keep? Why?

I have them all as well....I'd say the smaller ones are more important than the large ones. You can wail away w/ small if needed, but can't fit large everywhere if needed.

32 probably......

What is your avatar of?
OT: I would go with the smallest one. BFH are never in short supply.

I would go with a 24 ounce or whatever is closest to that (I don't know what weights the snap on hammers are available in). I have been using a 24 ounce deadblow for a while and get a lot of use out of it, I almost never need a smaller one, and rarely need a bigger one.

If you take the biggest one and use it to knock out the other two guys taking the other hammers then you end up with all three...

Call me crazy, but any time I have the option of various free items, I choose the most expensive one.

I have Snap On deadblow hammers in 24, 32 and 56 ounce, and use all three about equally, but the reason is probably because I happen to have them already.

If I had to pick just one, I'd pick the biggest one.
My reasoning is that in a small soft faced hammer, I'll be almost as happy using any plain soft faced mallet. But when it comes to the heavier sizes, if I need something soft faced and cannot use a sledge, heavy mallets just don't compare to dead blows. Yeah, I have some Garland rawhide faced mallets, but I don't like messing them up on metal.

The smallest one, depends what you typically work on though.
