Chop Saw - Northern Tool - $60 - Clearance

I just picked up this 14" Chop Saw at Northern Tool for $60 + tax. Marked on clearance on their website. Store also had it on clearance but for $78. Just tell the store and they match the website price.

I figure for $60 I'd take a chance on it. Only comes with a 3 month warranty but for $25 you can get a full 2 years more full replacement. I skipped it and took my chances as $25 is a 1/3 of the saw price.

Yeah wouldn't surprise me. I see the Northern Tool is rater at 2.5 HP (vs 2) and has 300 more RPM's than the Harbor Freight, but who knows how accurate that is.

The HF is $73 on sale, so the $60 is a good price then.

I bought a floor model Milwaukee chop saw at that price @ Northern

They had a Milwaukee on clearance there too, but it was $167. And the new Milwaukee taking it's place was $180.

I had the Harbor Freight version of that saw and it did ok. I cut quite a bit of 2x3x3/16" but after a while I could smell the motor burning up. Cuts great, but tons and tons of dust.
