Hard to believe this one was finished and sent down the road a year ago. It feels like a hell of a lot longer than that.

I talked to the owner not too long ago and he hasn't been able to get the interior done yet since he has been having so much fun driving it. He drives it any chance he gets.

Any chance you can give some more details on the paint booth? I can tell from all the various shop photos where your booth is situated in the building and I understand it draws intake air through the booth ceiling from the main shop buildings' open space - but is there a fan up there pushing it through? or is the pull from the exhaust fan enough? I'm guessing there is a fan up there - and if so is it the same size/ CFM as the exhaust? Oh, and by the way.... loves all the build pics. Your daily driver ford is sweet and I really like the new paint job it got.

Only pulling with 24" tubeaxial Dayton exhaust fan. To do this you obviously want to have seals on all the doors going into the booth. One thing to consider (and I would like to add some day) is a fan that would circulate warm air through the booth and back into the main shop to warm the car or panels prior to painting in the winter.

Thanks for looking and the great comments.

Amazing talent and such a great story.

I'm wondering if you own or owned a 36 Ford roadster I might have fallen in love with during Speed Week 2003 (maybe 2006)? Your name is kinda unique

Flat black, super low with flames... stainless roll bar?

No I don't own or know of the car you are referring to but I appreciate the complement and thought.

Been a long time since I have given this thread any attention. Just noticed the photos don’t show up on the first 12 pages. I need to get that fixed then get posting again. Haven’t been being too lazy so I have a pile of stuff I’ll get posted.

Ready for final water sand and paint (once a color and scheme has been selected). First time I have ever made it this far and not had a color picked out. Maybe it's a sign I should of just stuck with working on the merc.

Should have more regular and detailed updates going forward (at least for now).

We need to see this on the truck.

I don't have a picture of it on the truck. I decided to take a long break from working on customer project then the owner of the Mack (same owner of the COE and model A I previously done) convinced me to do him a favor and clean up this bed and get it in primer so he could drive the truck. The project snowballed as usual until I ended up painting it. He wants me to do the rest of the truck but I really need a break from customer projects, so it isn't done.

This is the only picture I have of the truck. It is sitting on a 2nd gen dodge 4wd frame with a built 12 valve in it.

I haven't been following the thread.
But the yellow truck in the snow looks pretty good.

Final water sanded the roof today. Time to come up with a plan, order materials, clean the booth and lay down some color.

Sprayed the roof yesterday. Below I show the main steps (probably 3/4 of the steps - didn’t post the ones that look duplicate but actual had minor striping or blending added).

Utah...SNOW BLOWS!
Wow! I was expecting a really nice one- or two-tone paint job. This is WAY beyond that. Very nice.
I was expecting the same. The last few photos simply blew me away, and left me thinking "I can only imagine how many different ways I could screw up a paint job like that".

Totally badass! Scaffolding or a sky hook?

I need a rotisserie. I removed the wheels and tires and used painter benches which made it doable but painful. Sky hook crossed my mind but no the straps were pulled down prior to painting.

Thanks for all the great comments. My plan has been to keep it simple and not do the traditional Corvair van paint scheme. So I missed the boat on the roof. Now I still plan to keep the sides simple (don’t want to overdue it) and will likely do a little more flashy stuff on the inside .

When I saw the pics of it wrapped and the roof ready I immediately thought, it’s gotta be done in lace.

That looks great!
