Too much, but the wife wanted it…

It’s a Clopay Model 904 with added higher lift (stronger spring) and hugs the ceiling. Came to just over $5k
They all have expensive taste! But i think she made the right call on that one. Enjoy it!

I sure am hoping to. Just need to let the flames cool on the cost of this build and do some updates around the house, that the wife wants first…
I know that feeling all too well.

I am currently looking for some "reasonable" property in the area. (I am in Cypress) Would love to build a new spot on a few acres but prices are just outrageous these days.

I just saw 4 acres for sale in the Sam Houston National Forest in Willis for $135k. Thats the going rate for land around here.

I got the doors in finally but can’t seem to get the 8” wide door jamb trim issue resolved. The building had the wrong black. I went to the supplier asked for the correct black and was given a sample of both blacks. I went home and compared and went back to the supplier. I showed them the black I needed. 2 weeks go by and they said they’re ready. (Mind you the supplier is doing this for free now as my builder never ordered from them like the rest of the building because he ran up his tab and until he could pay it off, wasn’t allowed to order from them) The builder’s cousin picks them up and delivers. A week later his crew comes to install. They said it’s still the wrong black. Went back to the supplier and said still wrong. They said it was the brand I ordered. I then showed the sample with what name was written on the back. They said someone out in the shop mislabeled them. So they made the correct black trim. Then the builder’s cousin picks them up and delivers. His crew comes back out and starts unwrapping and said it’s the correct black but all scratched up. So I’m at that point now.

New project for the shop. I would like to somehow shore up the soil to the face of the building under the slab. The fill is roughly 18" in depth. As it sits now, there is fill and soil (and broken up concrete) sloped away from the foundation, unfortunately taking up valuable foot traffic area. I was thinking of using the retaining wall stones that are scallop shaped. But do they have to be away from the building or could I have the back of the top run inline with the face of the slab foundation?

Here are a couple of pics of what I am working with:

If I understand correctly on the stone.
Random internet photo....

I have seen them used against a driveway with no issue, as you described but not against a building. I would use construction adhesive on every course as well as some rebar ......but I have been accused of over building things.

Question Chris_p, are you going to use the retaining wall to raise up the soil so the ground is level to the top of the slab or to lower the soil and have the retaining wall hold back the soil that is level to the foundation. Sorry my pea brain is having a hard time understanding your vision. I would guess you want to come out with a wall and then lower the ground in front of the wall to about the same level as the trailer. Digging that with all the types of fill could be some tough sledding, If the room permits, I think I would build the wall out 3-4 feet away from the foundation to the location you can dig down about a foot for gravel for the base of the wall avoiding the fill. Then back fill behind that new wall level to the top of the foundation. A metal probe made out of #3 rebar welded into a tee would allow you to define the location of the edge of the fill by pushing it down into the ground to detect the fill along the wall path.
Hope this helps

I used 3x1 limestone, I also used it on my drive. I only had 9-12" of off grade. This worked really well but a few years later I need to run a ********/packer over it and settle it in some.
