The little one wanted wrenches and older one loves the digital caliper. He couldn't guess. He was playing with an old one in the shop the other day. We are going to work on some math they don't get in normal school.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Cary.

I still have the tools my dad gave me when I was about their age for Christmas. They’ll always remember dad giving them tools.

This little guy is learning, the eldest is quite a mechanic designer already. Comes up with a lot of solutions. Helped me split a tractor yesterday.

ha reminds of my boys. happiest with an old pair of jeans on and usually scraped and bruised up!

they still like the old jeans and working on stuff but somehow the young ladies have crept into the picture.... i guess that's what makes the world go round. it takes young ladies to create memories like that.

The elder is getting close to welding and cutting. I was waiting for some finer motor skills. He is still all over the place, I been working on pressure wash a little. Lots of people run one, not that many been well trained.

I still have the tools my dad gave me when I was about their age for Christmas. They’ll always remember dad giving them tools.

People gave him some stuff when he was smaller but it was too early to care for them and they were all over the place. It became easier to use mine. The little guy got magnets and mirrors last year, he had a blast for couple days and i saw some parts floating around yesterday. Next year new ones and scissors. .
There is some method to this, replace anything I am broke or missing. I added about 2 dozen screwdrivers, theirs look just like mine,
I was gonna give one a new battery drill. Ha

That’s great. I got tons of tools this year lol. I always got some as a kid too mine were mostly Stanley brand from Walmart which wasn’t bad at all. That was back before Harbor Freight has decent tools. I still have most of them except my dad stole one of the ratchets claiming it was his which made me a bit angry then he ended up leaving it under the hood of a car which I was double angry. That ratchet was one of the few things I had from my grandma on his side of the family. Oh well lol at least I got plenty more this year. That was always one of my favorite gifts to get is tools.

Stuff cost more back then. I got another dial caliper, we were working on 1000ths already, trying to relate them to fractional. Got a infared thermometer so we been measuring the temp of everything today.

For my grandson last year he received a (small) roller box and upper with a small starter kit. I repainted it (drawers) so it looks(ish) like mine. This year mostly toys hes still only 7 but he now has a Groz 2" clamp on vise. He was so geeked last year that he has his own tools. I've had him in the garage helping me with the bandsaw. Little by little, I don't want to push him away from tools he asked for a tool box last year, but no real mention this year, but he is using them, so slow nuture is my plan for now, with some more age he'll get more exposure and more enthusiasm. Merry Christmas and keep up the good work! Harry https://www.busybeetools.com/products/table-vise-2in.html very nice looking for $17 CAD
