Chrome moly vs Chrome vanadium tool steel question

What's the difference between Chrome moly and Chrome vanadium? Is one better than the other?and why?

I have two deep impact sockets made by FLAG in Japan and the old one says Cr-V and the new one Cr-M??

Cr-m is usually used in impact sockets since they are less likely to crack. Chrome sockets and cheap impacts are Cr-v.
