Approximately how much fuel per hour would be consumed letting the engine idle. Engine is a 2.7L in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. engine is properly tuned and would be getting enough air to prevent overheating.

Don't know about the fuel question but the 2.7 has a history of oil sludge problems.

Excessive idling may make this problem worse. I have read that they made changes in the later builds to reduce this problem. I would also recommend a high quality synthetic as opposed to dino oil.
