Awhile back I got my first drill press from my father in law and he gave me all kinds extras. Well it came with 4 chucks three of them are Jacobs and the huge one is no name. I was wondering how to clean, lube, grease, etc. them? Two of them are pretty rough really hard to tighten. Do I need to take them all the way apart? One of the Jacobs one is a ball bearing don't know if that makes a difference.

I'm not sure if there is a thread about this already I did not search to long, if so the link would be appreciated.

Press them apart, wire brush the individual parts shiny clean, regrease, reassemble. Be aware of the differences in the plain and ball-bearing chucks when you go to take them apart, and also realize it shouldnt be super difficult/require much force to get them apart. I press them apart with a really small bench vise and no leverage.
