I don't know if you are really wanting to just do this all DIY but I think you should at least give a mason a call and have them come look at it. I suspect they will have a few options of resolving your problem that would look good when done.

Maybe filling them in and parging the walls would be the best route.

I would check with a mason though and get a quote.

Thats an interesting design cement blocks have a fraction of their weight holding ability when setting on their side most of the weight here is carried on the 8x8 sections between the holes.

Judging from the images provided that wall is not a load bearing wall.

Seems the way it is constructed it could not have rebar reinforcement vertically, or horizontally and be properly grouted for a structure 8’ tall :headscrat

If the glass block doesn't work out. You could use empty glass bottles. shove em in neck first and then grout them up. Would be easy to create a mosaic of different colored bottles.
Should be cheap enough at your local bar or winery too.

Some of those walls are sort of gaudy, some are really cool, but I love these dividers :beer: Now I'm going to have to start buying brewskies in glass instead of bottles.
