I have a set of the knipex spring style ones. Very nice for home use. Then I have snappy at work.

I got the first pair (of a planned set) of Knipex Precision (48, 49 series) circlip pliers in about 3 days ago. Used them to disassemble and reassemble some ratchets and to pull/replace a bearing in a gearbox.

So far I'm completely impressed - these things are worth every penny!

Knipex precision are my choice. I hate reversible pliers or any snap ring pliers that does more than one thing. If I had to buy a set of reversible ones snappy would be my choice. I played with them a little and prefer the knipex precision.

They are the left side of my drawer.

I know this is an old thread but did you have to buy that knipex set by the individual plier? Took a look at the knipex site, but didn't see a number for a complete set.

Agtech,

Knipex sells circlip pliers in sets. In this thread, GJ member "Jeeper" took a picture of his Knipex set he bought from Amazon: LINK.

MAC, Matco, Craftsman, SnapOn & several others are all made by Strand. I picked up a set labeled Craftsman for about $30 on clearance that are identical to the ones SnapOn sells for $200....

ZRX61,

I believe the Craftsman set is made by Stride Tool. Here is a link to the set on its website: LINK.
