So I've found an old SkilSaw 534 in the garage. It being bladeless I grabbed a 6.5" Plywood/OSB blade for it while out and about. I get home to find out the blade is made to fit a 5/8" arbor but the saw has a 1/2" arbor. Looking around online the vast majority of blades made for 1/2" arbors are 4" with the occasional 6" thrown in.
I have however found shims. Now, do I drop ~$10 on a 1/2 to 5/8 shim that I apparently fit into the blade before mounting the blade in the saw or, having seen some blades that have a knockout to convert the 5/8 arbor hole to a diamond arbor, is there an adaptor I can get for my saw's 1/2" arbor to accept blades with this diamond knockout or am I just not looking in the right place for blades?
