I've got this like new vintage Black&Decker super saw cat and needed to replace gear case grease. Found the the OEM grease that was supposed to be used , but the price was something like $35-$40 bucks for a 6 oz. tub. Sort of pricey!
To make a long story short, I searched google and discovered that Black&Decker grease was Exonn cvj grease. Looked up what was in Exonn's and ending up finding a grease that is cheaper with the same qualities. It's Motorcraft Xg-5 constant velocity joint grease, checked Ebay and found it. Bought 6 tubes ( got other saws needing grease), Black&Decker price for a 6 oz. tube $37.00/ ebay,6-3.3 oz. tubes $24.00. Both brands are a polyurea based synthetic,NGHI # 1 to 1 1/2. Thinking others might consider this for their saw, if needed.
