Of course it will. You can't move water without creating some pressure to move it. So, it needs to create enough pressure to move the water.

Will it increase the pressure of the boiler? No. It moves water in the closed system.

It will not increase the static pressure, but wil increase the differential pressue enough to overcome the flow friction of the moving fluid. So yes, but....

Thanks for the replies. I was sure how much pressure it would create but what you said makes sense.

I've got 10-12lbs of static pressure in my system, turning the pump on shows no change in the pressure gauge. It will of course raise the pressur if I shut off a valave and dead-end the pump.

I wasn't exactly sure what effect the pump would have on the system. I was told I should keep my system around 15 - 20PSI.
