Looks like a 1960's vintage Craftsman. They're pretty nice machines. Much of the Cman stuff of that vintage was built by King Seeley, Dunlap and others.

Around here, drill presses are selling pretty cheap. I'd offer $50 for it, but $75 isn't a bad price if it's complete and the bearings are in decent shape. It looks really clean for an older machine. It's either been restored at some point or it's had a good life.

Check the spindle for excessive runout and if it's good, I'd go for it.

If no longer needed. then get them to throw in the drill bits. You might find that the better part of the deal.

It's hard to know with these old machines... The original motor (if the buyer opted for one rather than provide their own) might be anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 HP. Many of them have had the motors replaced so you'll need to ask.

In any case, it's going to be easy to put on a larger motor if you need it.

If it hasn't been abused, it's almost certainly going to be better than a Taiwan cheapie. Those old machines were built to last.

Thats definitely a huge step up from a Taiwanese drill press. And for only $75. If i didn't already have 3 drill presses including one just like that, I would already be on my way to Uniontown.

I agree, good deal. Even if it needs bearings. It's hard to find a floor model Craftsman/King Seely 15 inch press for less than 150 bucks around my area.

This one has some kind of extension protruding from the top. Maybe the variable speed option. Hard to tell from that photo. That would be a bonus.

I sent that guy an email this morning asking for a better pic, and any more info. It's about an hour from my house... Funny I see it on here... I thought about posting the same question. I'll see what he comes back to me with. He also has some industrial compressor that looks interesting???
