I was looking through CL like I randomly do and saw this. My first thorugh would be a great gift for my FIL's shop, but my wife said we already got him something for Christmas, so I figured I would post the ad up here in case anyone was looking for a cool antique piece for their shop.

Hand operated. I have one I picked up at the junk yard many years ago and have never used. It has a flat pulley someone put on to make it motor driven.

Restore it, polish the polishable bits, and presto!!!

Really cool garage art...albeit, not very usable for the poking of holes...

Thats actually pretty nice.
Bummer about the cracked table support.

Must be neat to use.
I imagine the handwheel would turn with its own kinetic energy.
Imagine how slow you could drill with it. VERY usefull for drilling metal...
I would never put a motor on that.

Any name on the drill?
Some of those old drills were pretty strong at drilling large holes in steel plate.

Two of my uncles had post drills like this, but I never knew they could look this nice. Repair the broken piece, and install it in your shop. Ken.

anybody have a picture of somebody using that in his shop? i'm guessing it weighs about 600 pounds because that cart looks like maybe a 3 x 3 footer?

I for one would like to see the man cave able to hold that up on the wall and watch a video of the guys mounting it.
