Ive been reading the forum for a while but this is my first time posting. Nice to meet all of you.

Theres a guy on CL that sells tools out of his shed that me and a buddy go to about once a month so see what he has. He has a bunch of tables piled high of old tools that you dig through. Everything is a few bucks here or there. He gives the real cheapo stuff for free so we always load up a bunch of it cause you know hes not going to charge for it.

So did I get a deal or did I waste my money on a bunch of ****.

1 1/16" Proto Wrench $5
10" Diamond and 8" Scholler Adjustable Wrenches $5

The rest was free: 3 Hammers, Utica Pliers, New Britain slip joint pliers, Linesman pliers with Westinghouse logo, Craftsman Drill, B&D Drill, Files, and a couple of junk screwdrivers.

He usually charges $1 to 2 for the pliers and even the vice grips. Hes a big believer in craftsman so the prices are always a little higher on craftsman. The hammers are normally $3 a piece. There was a milk crate of pliers there and another full of hammers. I could have probably gotten a few other sets of pliers and hammers for nothing but its kinda a game on the free stuff if you grab too much of it he'll charge you for them.

I don't really need most of this stuff it's more for the fun of collecting old tools. Although I will put this stuff to use. Sometimes I scratch my head and wonder why I just spent $50 on a box of rusty tools.

Here are the pics of the pliers and hammers. The small hammer head is kinda interesting which is why I grabbed it. I was thinking a handle from a body hammer would work on it. Not sure what its use would be. The stubby ball pien has some kind of logo on it but its really hard to read. The end cutters are pretty much worthless as a cutter in its current state but I use those to fasten the clic-R style cv bands so the more worn out the better.

Older Stanley plastic face hammers often used round holes in the head, so that might work for the stubby length hammer head. I'd guess it was certainly for metal forming of some sort, possibly body work, but I've never seen one quite like that one.
