Not sure if this has already been displayed here, or if this is already a well known trick. Either way, it was like an epiphany to me today. I was wire brushing and greasing my C-clamp threads today. I had them in the vise to help. Turns out I realized I could turn my 4" vise into a 6" extra hand if need be. By no means would I do any high force or torque work with just a clamp in a vise. But when a third hand is needed and it needs to be larger than the vise itself, the possibilities are nearly endless now.

Nice. Just a bit of advise. When you decide to mount your vise permanently, place it with the fixed jaw slightly forward of the front of your workbench.

Clamping a small part in vise grips, then clamping the vise grips in the big vise is pretty handy too.
