Classic 78 or Tech series?

I just ran across 2 Classic 78 series tool cabs for home use. Both need a little work, but as I saw earlier, resale value will be much better and the warranty on the tool boxes will always be better. Snap-on isn't going anywhere, so personally I would invest in the Classic series. You also need to consider future trade in value. That may be the kicker right there.

That extra money goes to the tools, no point of having a krl that's half empty

Lots of guys starting out have half empty boxes heck my dads been in the business since before I was born and still has empty drawers in his new 84" epiq. You gotta grow into them. besides a full box doesnt make you money the right tools in the box make you money.

Those KRA2422's are new and I have to say make the classic 78 MUCH more appealing. That second full width drawer is a huge advantage.

I'm now considering a 722 as well, I got in contact with my dealer, and he happens to have a 722 in his garage, so if the price is right

$2300 for the kra2422 is student pricing and is a good deal if your dealer gives you student pricing. If he wont give you student pricing definitely get that 722 from him thats a pretty good deal. Ask if thats the best he can do on the 722. He may go lower since hes got it "in stock" and wont have to order anything.

I had the same cart you have and just bought a Classic 78 two months ago. I love it. It was the box i had been wanting for a long time and im really happy with it.

The mac box is really nice too, but i got a killer deal on my SO. No regrets here.

I'm considering buying the 2422 on credit, and trading in the cart for truck credit, since thats as low as he can go on the 722. Anyone know how bad snap-on credit is for students?

Youll like the 2422 its a great box. I love mine. If I were you id trade the cart in towards the box. Itll make your payments lower and you always got truck credit. This box was my first big purchase. Im 24 only 1 credit card and a small bank loan and SO hit me with 23% but its simple interest. My dad has over an 800 credit score and the lowest SO gave him was 9.9 so I dont think I did to bad. No penalty for early payoff and if you pay off early you save on the interest. Like I said earlier if I have a killer week I just double up on payments. Just make sure your dealer divides it the way you want it. And if I get any decent amount back on my taxes I plan to throw about 500 bucks towards my box.

What I meant, was I talked to my student rep from so, so I can get the box for 2400 then trade in my cart on the so truck and get 1400 toward tools.

my classic 78 is great and well cared for i wax and polish once a month the guys at the shop think i am crazy but if you take care of it it will take care of you as for the tech series good box but i choose the snap on because i like the idea of resale being higher than the mac and because i got the deal of a lifetime the guy that owned this box bought it had it delivered to his house on a friday and when he went to work on monday the company he worked for had bought all the techs brand new krl 7022 boxes so he sold the classic 78 to me for $1000.00 still in the box and crate it came in wow what a deal here is a pic as it looks today in my cave
p.s craftsman 3 drawer on top for paper work
