I have been looking for a black or orange on CL , you can get a good used one for 1500-1800. Must folks just dont have the cash up frt, so they buy it on payments off the truck. But thats not a bad price off the truck. I think my SO guy wanted 3700.

I was quoted that same price for a new KRL722 which is nicer for sure.

That seems a so-so price at best. Depends how bad and how soon you need it, but I would pass

I believe that's about what I paid for mine back in 2007. Not a bad price for a brand new box. Keep in mind that although it is 24" deep, it is shorter than the KRL models, and you will fill that sucker up fast.

The good news about them is that they are the same width and depth as the old KRL models that are 54" wide, so you can find hutches and overhead storage boxes used sometimes on craigslist, and pay a LOT less than what the dealer wants for those add-ons.

Overall I like mine, it is a great first box. Took me about 3-4 years to fill to the brim, and I've been expanding with add-on boxes since then. It is pretty much just a shorter KRL to be honest with you.

If it matters or not I'm from Canada so I'm not sure if there's a huge price break compared to the states?

I had a chance to buy one on CL for $1,500 (wich I stupidly passed on) and have since seen them selling for around $2,000 - $2,500.

apples to oranges, but I got my classic 78 for 2300 3 years back with the student discount. I'm glad that I bought it, But If I were to do it again, I'd save the cash and buy a bigger box... probably used.

Also some more apples to oranges. In comparison, the tightness of eqip drawers, the way they open, close, feel is so much better then the classic. For years I had a craftsman box, then I got the classic. Made the craftsman box seem like a kids toy, well same with with epiq to classic. I don't know, even masters seem a little sturdier...
