Hello. My name is Bruno. I sign as MG30 because I specialy love MG's from the 30's.
I live in Portugal (so sorry about my english) in a midium size city, just in the historic center (space is rare). I remember that in Portugal, "historic" means 2000 years in the underground and 1000 years at surface.
My passion is classic cars and everything related (like garages, or historic rallys)
Before talking of my garajes, i would like to talk to you a little bit about my "fleet".
My interest for classic cars started back in 2005 when i bought my first classic. A 1963 Triumph TR4. After that followed 1937 MG TA, 1968 Alfa Romeo GT, 1931 Ford A 180 Deluxe, 1973 BMW 2002 and I still have my Grandfather 1979 Mercedes W123.
I also have a 4x4 with a trailer to transport the classics, my daily car and my wife's.
This means... I need a lot of space
I dont want to move from local I live. I love to live there. So the FIGHT FOR SPACE BEGAN!
In 2005 the original garage was more or less 110 m2 ( about 1150 ft2 ) but half of it was for a workshop, stotage and a bathroom. Also the celing was very small 2,4m (8 ft) This means space only for 2 cars.
After waiting about one year for several aprovals,in 2007 i add to the garage about 50m2 (500ft2) where i could park 2 more big cars or 4 small ones. The hole garage is now about 160 m2 (1700 ft2) but still with low celling.
Now better than before, but still not enought.
I would like to have a car workshop with a lift a nice workbench and all tools that mad people like us want, soo...
Io ocupied a garage that i alredy had, about 150m (500ft) distance from my hause. The garage is about 140m2 (1500ft2) and 4,3m (14 ft) celling.
The idea was to make of this place a workshop, but although its close to my hause its not attashed and i like to be at "home"' so im using this garage to park cars.
And now the main reason for this thread, this year i bought a kind of small whare hause that is "glued" to my backyard. Its about 200m2 (2100 ft2) and betwen 5,3 m and 4,3m (17 ft and 14 ft) celling.
This is going to be my big project. To make this my dream workshop while i keep the other 2 garages for parking cars.
I'll open a new thread on the garaje galery to post pictures and show the progress when i start the works.
Thanks for reading this boring post.
