Hi to ADM!

I think that it should be a classified thread rule that when a member sell the item he/she should updated the thread with the SOLD letters in red and right after that send a PM to the MODs with the link of the classified so it can be deleted.

This would help to get rid of all the clutter and old threads.

Thanks

some here say they use the classifieds as a source for tool value. that service is gone with a delete of the thread. It would be very easy and helpful for the poster to update items sold with the edit feature so that the post is not bumped.

This is what a few of the other Mods have mentioned.

I never liked when old threads get deleted on forums. As stated, for classifieds, it can be a useful reference. If the seller wants the post deleted, he can edit it and delete it or request that a mod delete the thread.

It might be nice though, for a thread title to be labeled if the item is already sold. That might be difficult; requiring a moderator to edit every time or give the seller the ability and expect him to do that.

If you use the edit feature and note that the item is sold at the beginning of the post it will be visible if you run your curser over the post. No need to open the thread to see if the item has sold already.

If too many threads get deleted then the search function becomes useless.

I do understand the use of some classified to be used has reference for price if the threads are from the same year.

But is not always relevant because what cost you $1 in 2007 now can be $5.

i want to know why some people think they need to leave an ad up yet remove the selling or asking price after it is sold. just mark it sold and move on.

And also most of the Senior members when they edit the listing to the Sold status the price is deleted. Therefore is no use.

Don't know maybe some user want to see the one that got away! :bounce:
