Clausing Drill Press Question

Can anyone tell me what model is this Clausing Drill Press? I have been looking for a variable speed drill press for some time now and this one is coming up for auction. I emailed the auctioneer a couple days ago, but I got no response yet. I am only going to have at most an hour before the auction to inspect it and I will not be able to run it. Any advice on this model as to what I should look for before bidding?

Thanks

Looks like the 15" one. Check over, run if possible, the VS mechanism. They can be costly and a royal pain to repair/replace. Even the special belt ain't cheap. Check the phase if that is an issue for you. Otherwise general drill press check, broken or cracked castings? Bent or loose spindle, lots of holes in table, etc.

Man that thing looks beat, probably better off with the 20" Delta. While it's not VS, there's a lot less to go wrong with it.

Looks like the variable speed drive is missing. They might have just replaced it with a couple single sheaves. PASS. Those parts will cost more than a some new presses.

The variable speed drives in those drill presses use a plastic bushing which is prone to wear out after decades of use. When it wears out, the drive key works out of it's groove and eats up the sheave bore. I repair a fair number of them. Complete rebuild in the worst case runs around $250. I need both halves of the sheave and the remains of the hub though. :)

And Zkling is correct about the belt. It's 68 bucks!
