Clausing Posters/Wall References - Shop Decour

Shortly after I bought my mill I put up a Craigslist want ad for tooling. A gent from Poplar Bluff, about 70 miles away responed. Said he had a bunch of cutters and that he and his wife would be in Jonesboro the next day to visit relatives and shop. Turns out his relatives were good friends of mine and I agreed to meet them at their house. He had some cutters that I can use, the price was fair and I bought it all. With the deal made he handed me a roll of heavy paper and said "These will look nice in your shop." Five very nice poster sized tables and references printed by the Clausing Company, manufacture of mills, drills, and grinders. Today I took the to Hobby Lobby and had them dry mounted to foam board. Once I have my machines properly located the posters will go on the adjacent walls. They will, indeed look nice in my shop.

Those are great posters. They were probably meant for the high school and vocational school market. Clausing sold a large number of lathes to schools.

I sent an Email to Clausing http://www.clausing-industrial.com/ inquiring about the posters and asking if they had any other versions. I got the following reply:

"Regarding your inquiry on the Clausing Posters – the part number for the set of 5 is 6608, we have them available for $14.75 plus shipping for the set. I can not tell you when they specifically were printed as we have had numerous reprints done over the years – they have been available since at least the mid-1960’s, I have been with the company for 34 years and we have always stocked them.
We do not have any additional posters just the get that you have.

Can you tell us the size of the posters?

If those are on foam core, you might want to mount that to a solid wood backing. Foam core tends to warp after a while.
