Some Pictures of the garage redo. It is a 20x20, all block, attached garage with a stucco interior. The ceiling had water damage, and had to remove the drywall from the entire ceiling. The ceiling joist were on 20 inch centers, so I added fabbed beams and sistered them to the exising joist to allow for full 48 inch panels to be installed. I needed alot of light, so semigloss paint was used on the entire interior to reflect the 8, 8ft 4 tube fixtures.

I tapped into the houses boiler, and added a 43,000btu heater. The center beam was jacked, and 2x10's added to make it clean (from all the nails and mesh from the previous stucco) and level.

All cleaned up, cracks filled, and painted

Above the garage doors was water damage as well. The stucco was on there so good that it was easier to adhere drywall over the damaged area, and replace the center support for the openers.

The lights are on 2 switches, for low and high beams, so that I can keep power bills down a bit, and not blind people. The older openers were gone through, and had wireless modules installed on them.

The door rail brackets were screwed into 2x6's that I put behind the drywall before installing it, and the holes were drilled with a hole saw so I can hang stuff easily. You never know when you have hang stuff.

I did 100 percent of the work myself :)

CHEAP TRICK of the day, the hangars for all the lights are 1/2 in black pipe hangars, 79 cents a piece, and they work great with the factory punched holes in the lights.

Looks nice... the blue gives it a very commercial look. Ceilings are always fun to take down huh?

Looks like you got some nice Miller stuff there

A shovel made quick work of the ceiling, even with the stucco. the billion nails and getting the new stuff up was not as fun. I bought an ebay drywall lift and stilts, what a god sent they were.

That looks great! I'm guessing you're a fan of Miller Electric?

I've never seen that kind of door insulation (although, living in SoCal, there isn't a whole lot of insulation to see). Did you put it on, or did it come with the door?

Its the Owens Corning kit that you get at Home Depot. It went on really easily, and seems like it would work good. It would work better if the window panel was covered, but for now I am going to keep it like that for the light.

I think the fiberglass will be a little less prone to fire issues than foam, with the welders being used. Just a theory.

The big one is a Syncrowave 350lx 400amp tig/stick, with a miller coolmate3 and a homemade rolling stand that uses the factory machine wheels, its a little easier to adjust it when your at the bench, no bending over. Its also on a 50ft cord for working on cars in the driveway.

The little guy is a Millermatic 252, 300amp mig with a dual gas rack and a 30a spool gun.

I do drag chassis fab and run a twin turbo Buick Grand National. I think I like building more than racing sometimes.

I like the way u made your own brackets for the garage door tracks. I cant stand the cheap looking brackets with all the holes. Its all in the small details, nice shop!

Nice Job I love the colors. If you told me it was a brand new shop I'd believe it. The white made a big difference in the brightness. Nice work!
