I just had to use my shop to do a water pump for a family member. despite my best efforts some coolant and grime got on my fairly clean concrete floor. I would like to clean it, probably with a a mop and scrub brush on a pole using some bleech and tide solution that was recommended to me. do you guys have any experience or recommendations on how to clean automotive fluids off concrete?

If you don't care about stains, like me, just use Kitty litter. Seems to me most stains evaporate or soak in over time and disapear. I'd use a dawn dish soap solution for the grime with a decent shop broom.

Brake cleaner does a good job of removing gunk. Denatured alcohol may remove any residual coolant.

Ayuh,.... Antifreeze will flush right off, with nothin' but water,...

Ya don't define "grime", but it'll probably just wash off as well,...

I spot cleaned what I could with brake clean. I didn't know if anything in the anti-freeze would soak into the concrete and sweat or cause a permanent stain. By grime a few drops of oil, atf, stuff like that that drips onto concrete when working on a vehicle.

I tried my best to have a drop cloth down to catch everything, and the majority of the fluid went into catch pans, but you know how it is with radiator hoses, sometimes coolant goes everywhere.

Mineral spirits on spots. Floor dry thick enough to cover mineral spirits and be dry on top.

Walk away.

Return next day. Sweep up floor dry and recycle back into container.

Been doing this for years. Hasn't failed yet.

Do yourself a favor and seal the floor so that this does not happen again. An unsealed floor is a giant sponge waiting for something wet to **** up.
