I'm using lengths of fire hose to pad the cradles for a small sailboat on a tiny trailer. Cutting this stuff (both length and width-wise) has been a pain. Any recommendations on how to cleanly and evenly cut this stuff? Thanks. Tom

To cut to length, I use a regular utility knife. Compress w/ speed square and cut.
For a lengthwise cut, use a carpet knife. (hookblade)

I have always used a board under the cut.It can be slipped inside to cut for a single layer cut to give you wider pieces. I just use a utility knife with a new blade.
