Clean out Manifold opening

This 44 year old opening has some rust deformation, plus age, is making it so the new pipe does not want to slide in without force. It’s close.

I’d like to be able to pull it out if needed, at least for some time. Plus I do not want to drive it in, since of it gets stuck, before going completely in I’m screwed.

I tried a file, course sandpaper and a small grinder bit for a dremel. (All I have) They all opened it up some, but I need to get something at the next level, to get inside and so some real grinding to smooth things down.

Suggestions?

Flap wheel or a brake hone? Depends on how precise you're trying to be.

I have 1 crazy thought (well maybe 1-1/2)-
cylinder hone (JradM was thinking along the lines & out typed me!!)
or
cut a 3/4" thick plywood disk slightly smaller than the pipe, cut a couple angled (in the right direction) slots in it and use sandpaper backed with some pieces of stiff plastic cut from a bottle using a small nail as the sandpaper/plastic retainer and a bolt (or ??) as the spindle.

but it seems only in a 4" size (in this style)

Coarse flap wheel I would think may work the best, just be sure you are not getting particles down a open valve if that manifold is still attached to the engine.
