First garage that isn't rented! Wooo milestone! ahha anyways its pretty basic right now. Its an average sized 2 car at 22' wide and 21' deep.

We actually close this coming tuesday so more to come then. I start the diamabrush on wednesday for the legacy industrial epoxy/urethane (off white, no flake). I really really want to get a nice matching garage cabinet set right off the bat, but I think I am gonna hold off for a little bit till I know where the savings is after getting settled. Need to get a workbench fairly quick though, something that can have a vice and bench grinder attached.

In the next year or so I need to get a 4-post lift as well. That way the daily driver can fit next to the other cars. I've read on various forums that Greg Smith Equipment has good stuff, but if you've got any suggestions let me know.

Needless to say all that yard stuff is gonna find itself in a shed pretty quickly.

It's nice to have a clean slate, isn't it?

What are your ultimate plans for the garage and also the shed.

Bill

Yea I am glad the PO didn't do much, less time I need to spend patching stuff up.
Ultimately I just want a place I can do maintenance on my cars and store a couple that aren't driven as often (need that lift...). The theme will be a "clean room" though as I can be a little ocd at times. Hence the white floor and probably white walls.

Shed will probably just be something in the backyard to store the lawnmower and random other equipment. I should have it figured out by mid June.

Your setup looks almost exactly like mine when I started. I look forward to seeing what you do with the space.

I just finished going through your thread. Great job! I hope I can get it that well sorted. Completely agree with trying to keep stuff off the side walls. Your lighting upgrades made a huge difference as well, I am gonna have to do something similar.

Welcome, nice clean slate!!! I highly suggest going as big as you can with the backyard shed and also use it as a wood working shop if you plan to build your own shelving etc, then you keep the sawdust out of the garage and house.... I currently have a 12x8x9 shed and a 12x5x6 lean to shed behind it, and it really saves my but when it comes to storing things and not tripping over them....

I will probably only go with about a 8x8 or a 8x10 just due to the size of the backyard. It would be nice to have a work shed though to, like you said, keep the sawdust out of the garage. That'll likely be the next house though haha.

Little update!

I got my Legacy floor all done. I went with their 2-part 100% solids epoxy, epoxy primer, and HD322 aliphatic polyurethane topcoat. All three coats are in off-white and I am glad I did it that way. The 3rd coat made all the difference for the uniformity of the floor color. The cars move in tomorrow so I'll post some more photos after that. I am gonna have to figure out a storage solution pretty quick so I can keep stuff off the floor. The walls will get fresh paint within the next week or two and then I'll most likely get some vinyl baseboards as a water barrier.

If anyone has any questions about the floor just let me know. I've got a thread in the flooring section with more detail on the install too.

Do you mind if I ask how much it cost to do the floor? I want to do mine and would like to save money doing it myself. I'll check out your other page where you said you posted pictures of the process, excuse me if the price is listed in there, I'll find it. Good job on the floor though!

:headscrat Love the white floor but I also like the chipped floors shown elsewhere on GJ. When I read about the pains people have of losing hardware on the chipped floors, then I want to go solid color, but then it shows diirt and scratches more. :headscrat:headscrat:headscrat

I'm confused! Lucky that I probably have a while before I have to make up my mind which way to go as I still have a gravel floor in my pole building.

Always nice to get the shell done before having to load it up with stuff. It'll never be that empty again!

Looking forward to seeing more!
