G'Day folks,
I love to look at all of the giant garages and car parking spaces.
I am in awe at how many spaces are so organised. My garage is 20 x 30 and chock full of junk. I do lots of work in my shed. The working space is created by moving my daily driver out and sliding the project into place. I can't believe how tidy some of the garages are.
I just don't have time or space to make my shed "impressive"

I have that problem lots of times also. I say it is a problem, because it's really lazy logic on my part. I am more efficient when I can find and get to my tools quickly. I use the logic that I just don't have time to clean up or organize, and it costs me in the long run. There are differences between show places and working shops. Mine is certainly a working shop. It's not there to impress anyone, but rather a good work area. So, is it important to me to have a pretty shop? No. Is there an advantage to not having to move everything around so that I can work on my current project? You bet. But, I know those old plugs and wires that I changed out on my wife's van the other day are still sitting on the work bench. How long would it have taken me to throw them away? I guess I will find out when I start my next project.

Welcome RobSmith -

Quick question for you down in Australia -

The wife grabbed a box of new age twisty shaped screw-in flourescent bulbs the other day. The box says to install them only in an "upright" position (screw-in part facing the ground). Since you're on the bottom of the world, how do you guys use these things so they're not upside down?

Pictures would be cool.

My shed is now a total mess as I have bought a chroming plant and there are tubs of chemicals taking up lots of good space. One day I will build a frame for all the 8 tanks and put it on wheels. Move the giant compressor outside and make the lathe workbench mobile. aaaarrrrh too much to do & too little time. Like the two ended light bulb. I'll burn out and sort the shed then light up again with a new arrangement. ha ha ha ha !
