My TJ is still on the road. I bought a spare 4.0 and a 258 plus some other stuff to do upgrades at the same time. I wanted to get the engine done first so I could just do a swap when it was all ready.

Plans will change! I had a moment where I felt I was betraying my vision of the perfect shop. I fixed a portable air compressor. I was in the middle of wiring and wanted it perfect before moving to the next thing.

My current vision of my shop is much different from my initial setup.

It was my intention earlier to put everything on hold until my garage is exactly what I want. While working on it tonight I disided that there is at least one project I should finish. It will help keep me from rushing through my shop restoration and consolidate some stuff. So now it's clean up put everything away, get rid of a lot, finish building the 4.0 stroker for my jeep. I hope I'm not just making excuses to myself, but one engine in the stand takes up a lot less room than 2-1/2 engines disassembled. I'm glad to hear some of you are slow as well:)

I consider engine consolidation to be a key part of my cleanup, not a sidetrack. Getting the junk 350 out of a car and putting the good one in allowed me to scrap an entire parts car as it freed up an engine stand.

This is very true. Mine doesn't look exactly like I thought it would.
