I've had this vise for about 20 years, it has been well taken care of. It a 4" Wilton Machinist vise, made in June 1971. I decided to paint it Krylon Banner Red, I had this can lying around from another project. I took it apart and cleaned it with soap and water. I used one coat of black primer and two coats of red.

Great job. I love the color, and would love to have a quality vise like that. Eventually.....

Did you mask off the machined areas, or scrape it off after? Looks great.

I took off the jaw pads and the collar, I masked all the other areas.

Awesome job. You should consider hand painting the letters a contrasting color, white maybe. Would make it really pop.

It's a great model by Wilton, a true classic. I was going to paint it blue like the one below, but I had the can of red handy.
