Cleaned up this old 22" Faceplate

This old Faceplate cleaned up real well!
I wanted to use it on my Lathe, but it is 2" too big!
There is no brand name on it, just a serial number 8813.
It has D1-6 Mounting.
Does anyone used these anymore?

Faceplate still have a use if you have lathe work to do on an irregular workpiece that cannot be easily placed in a chuck. Facing a casting would be an example.

Another use would be as a replacement for a drill press table. Many old camelback stye D/P's use round tables and many of those have a huge amount of drill damage from years of abuse. They're not too hard to adapt for that purpose.

I just recently bought a 12" faceplate on a D1-6 for my lathe, was actually really hard to find one that small on that spindle.
They are not something you use often but when you need one, you really need one.

You see them used as small welding tables as well.
