cleaner?

So ive been looking for a good cleaner. I recently got a used front mount intercooler for my daily driver, but its grimmy. I searched for a good solution i could mix up in a tub and soak it over night. Nothing great came up. So for the past couple of days ive been pondering and realized tools get grimy on a daily basis, and for longevity they should be cleaned once and a while atleast. Also a great cleaning agent is a tool in itself. I cant remeber how many times i made part runs because i ran out of break cleaner.

So any sugestions on a soaking solution for an aluminum intercooler core?

a gallon jug of simple green. good degreaser to soak in and can also use as a general purpose cleaner in a spray bottle.

Simple Green and Aluminum are a no no.

The aqueous-base and alkalinity of Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner can accelerate the corrosion process. Therefore, contact times for unprotected or unpainted aluminum surfaces should be kept as brief as the job will allow - never for more than 10 minutes. Large cleaning jobs should be conducted in smaller-area stages to achieve lower contact time. Rinsing after cleaning should always be extremely thorough - paying special attention to flush out cracks and crevices to remove all Simple Green® product residues. Unfinished, uncoated or unpainted aluminum cleaned with Simple Green products should receive some sort of protectant after cleaning to prevent oxidation
