I've searched; hoping y'all could share. I am on the never ending path of "a place for everything, and everything in its place". I don't want to be the one that makes excuses for being messy. Ive gotten some ideas here for organization and storage, etc. but there could always be more.

So- drop some photos of your tidy, organized, or otherwise CLEAN work space.

Body and paint work, or my case fiberglass bring a lot of other challenges with the mountains of pretty lightweight dust that goes everywhere. I did a big job on a bright yellow boat 18yrs ago. I still find a yellow dust from time to time.

Agreed. I did paint and body work in the shop on my parent's farm and swore I would NEVER do it when I got my home shop. Covering toolboxes, equipment and shelving with plastic or sheets helped, but that fine dust is like talcum powder and gets everywhere. Nothing fully keeps it out of drawers or cupboards.

We have a few shop parties coming up and have been deep cleaning the last few days. Kiddos helped vacuum under things while I moved everything ground level around. I can’t tell you how good it feels to have the dust level down again in here.

Miss Middle Child has been a trooper today and even cleaned under the stairs. This concrete hasn’t seen the light since early 2020 lol

There has to be a better solution to the whole dust in the saw cuts mess than what we do. Drag a pickaroon through and vacuum the dirt up. Anyone put calk or something else in them to plug them ?

I tried that Sikka Flex product that I hear about a lot on my floor. That was the biggest mistake I made in the shop. It only lasted a year before it started cracking, now it looks like swiss cheese.

Curious.

I put Sikkaflex in the tooled crack joints on my garage floor so the wheels on the chair I use under my lift wouldn't catch. It has held up remarkably well - I've spilled ATF, motor oil and antifreeze on it pretty regularly. I has been down about four years now. Cleans up fine with mineral spirits.

On my last house I used it outside to seal the garage apron to the stucco after the termites ate the cellulose expansion board . It only lasted about 20 years before the Phoenix UV/sun took its toll.

YALL! I got a new Milwaukee Tool (impact driver; as mine gave up the ghost). And they gave me a free handheld blower... BOY! makes clean up a breeze (pun intended). Im a pretty serious sweeper- but this does the 15 minute sweep job in 5!
Now I have a dedicated SHOP blower that I never knew I needed.

Well y'all inspired me to clean the shop to a level it hasn’t been for a calendar year and have a few friends over. We moved everything away from the walls and vacuumed every square inch and then mopped it all as well. Squeaky clean is an understatement. I took the buffet off its shelf, loaded it up with 50lbs of roast beef, 20lbs of sloppy joe meat, 40lbs of mashed potatoes and a bunch of rabbit food for the health conscious and started inviting people. We had around 130 people roll through between 3pm and 1am and had a great time like always.

I try to keep up with it.

I really want to try one of these walk-behind floor sweepers.
I have heard good things.

I'm interested in this as well.

I have a Karcher S4 that does a very good job but it’s a very dusty thing to operate. I drilled a hole in the dirt bucket, put a 1” conduit male adapter into it, set a battery shop vac on top, hook it to the conduit fitting and **** all the dust out while I’m sweeping. It works great but you almost gotta have a bag in the vac or the filter plugs up rather quickly.
