Took this project on to clean up a frozen solid spray foam gun
Cleaned one up a few years ago, this is another . A buddy was tossing it,so of course Hoarder Cobbler had to take it.
I'll probably give it back to him when I'm done with it .
took it to pieces as it was solid cured foam inside. nothing moved. used heat to soften the hardened foam & what I think was probably crazy glue on the threads to get it apart . had to grind the blade of a flat screwdriver down to fit inside of the ****** so as to get a good fit . used a long drill bit to clean out the tube and other ports . Lost the spring shown for the check valve on the feed port. it was frozen in to the cured foam , I used some heat to release it while holding with needle nose pliers, but it freed up sooner than I was expecting. it went flying. looked in my stash for a similar one & found a good candidate
started to put it back together and the damn 1/4" ball bearing vanished . ****. I know I have some somewhere. just have to locate them.
I know it's a waste of time in some peoples eyes, but hey, this is garage journal after all.
It's a fairly easy process, just need to be careful of flying parts .
probably an hour process from start to finish if I could have remembered all the steps from the last time I did one , and not lost any parts .
more to come
