Cleaning a Daiken heat pump - DIY

I'm looking for info and brands of foam, etc. to use for DIY cleaning of a Daiken heat pump - 2 heads, split system.

It was installed several years ago and the guys every local place sends out are not well-trained children. I guess there is a labor shortage, so I've been using my own labor.

I'd like to up my cleaning game as I keep finding crud in the drip tray, for one thing.

I'm thinking I should clean the coils each time, not just the plastic dust filters.

Depends on coil I would use water if major crud dawn dishwashing soap, don't want to destroy condenser or evaporator coil over some trash cleaner

what about those spray cans of foam cleaner?

The unqualified people being sent out to clean are the same people sent out to install! To be slightly fair, if I were a business I would not send out my best installer to do something like clean a unit.

In my Daikin literature someplace it says only use water to clean the evaporator. So far 2 years, my evaporator coils have stayed extremely clean, while the blower wheels are mold generating systems.

The knowledgeable people I follow in the AC world use Simple Green when they have to clean the evaporator coil. They also maintain commercial mini split systems and only clean filters on up to 6 month intervals. Claim it keeps the coils cleaner. Which with a bit of thought makes sense.
