What is the best thing to use to clean a hard plastic case like the red Snap-On style? Is something like windex preferred or do you guys use something else to get greasy handprints off?

Probably WD40. It's not much good as a rust preventative/lube but it is a good safe solvent/cleaner. It's pretty much always my first choice because it is so safe and generally effective on grime. Then I would go to Simple Green, which is also safe and good on plastics.

I used to like Simple Green but have since discovered "Awesome" that you get at the Everythings a Dollar store. Works great on grease/ grime but does not leave a film or residue. YMMV.

Get some car "Bug & Tar Remover" in a spray bottle and use that. It works great for cleaning grease off all kinds of plastic.
