Cleaning an epoxy floor

Canada, eh?
I've searched and can't find.

Any idea if I can safely clean a fully cured 2-part water based epoxy floor with a steam cleaner (like this) and/or a WetJet.

I assume that neither of these will harm the floor but thought I'd better check.

Thanks - Marc

What epoxy system was installed or are you planning to install? If you know what the product is and who made it, their tech services department can tell you how to properly clean the material.

I typically use a 5 to 1 solution of Simple Green and water with a standard mop on my Rust Oleum Professional floor. Acetone cleans up paint overspray with a little elbow grease. If caught early enough, fluid spills wipe up with paper towel.

I use the Swiffer Wet Jet all the time on my epoxy floor .

Expensive for the refills though ,as your floor will typically eat through a lot of them.

First, NO ONE in here is qualified to answer your question unless they are a chemist and know the formulation of the product on your floor. You should be asking the manufacturer!

MOST 2K waterbased epoxies are NOT resistant to steam cleaning. Most would probably be fine under a swiffer...

Epoxy Coatings must be modified to have the ability to handle steam cleaning.

Again... ask the manufacturer...

The advice on the mixture of Simple Green is pretty safe although I would recommend you get some OrganiClean 935 through Fred at AlphaGarage. We are constantly told that it will blow away Simple Green in it's effectiveness. We also have a neutral cleaner as well. See Fred...
