Have aluminum flashing that was bent from coil stock that is about 20 years old. Needs a good cleaning and have noticed some areas where the coating is deteriorating - perhaps some light corrosion. The soffit panels are plastic and also need cleaning. I have seen suggestions of power washing but seems like that would push water above the panels (they are vented) and drip dirty water from dust above panels. Would have to let things dry out and still clean them again. Any suggestions? And wondering about waxing the aluminum. Probably should have done it a long time ago... For those that say just replace it, the installers bent a bead that sticks out - I think to help it lay flat and also give it some detail and I would like to keep that. It's not so bad I need to replace it - just a bit dirty.
