What can I use to shine up the diamond plate on my trailer? Looks like needs to be polished up. Thanks again, Paul

You're gonna laugh, brake fluid. Try a smal part somewhere and see how it reacts. But if your up for the challenge you can always polish it the ole fashion way and cuss yourself for decades to come.

Just what material is this plate made from? Plastic, aluminum, steel, or stainless steel?

It makes a difference.

I had a piece of aluminum diamond plate which had some kind of clearcoat on it. I was welding it into other things and it had to be stainless brushed like mad before I could get all of that stuff out of the weld zone. That said, any kind of abrasion other than micro-fine polishes would be bad in my opinion. I purposefully cut thru it but it was very dull on the other side.

I got some 4 x 8 sheets of aluminum diamond plate to floor a 4' x 16' atc trailer I had, they were from the scrapyard. I used a pressure washer to get rid of the green paint they partially had, and some gasoline to remove the tar on them. I didn't worry about the finish once they were stripped.

Take one 6"-8" two by four. Cut a couple carpet remnants to fit around the two by four. Use two screws to secure carpet to block on 1 1/2" side. Now use the polish with the carpet block circular patterns overlapping. Change carpet out when it becomes blackened from polish and no longer polishes. Some carpets works better than others, taller shags.
Good Luck

Call the local Semi Truck shop, ask who in area does polishing. Often times they can do a better job then you can and it is affordable, let some else make and clean up the mess - its a dirty job. Hell I get the wheels on my PU polished for $80 bucks every spring.
